ABOUT AAF

The Afghanistan-America Foundation (AAF) is an independent, non-partisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to helping rebuild a new Afghanistan. Working with Afghan expatriates in collaboration with the people of Afghanistan, the Foundation is directly helping reconstruction projects in Afghanistan while working in the United States to encourage support for reconstruction projects and private sector investment.

AAF was founded in 1996 by current and former members of Congress, led by Founding Chairman Don Ritter, working with Afghan-American expatriates to inform policy makers of the urgent need for action on Afghanistan by the United States, Russia and the world. The Foundation White Paper, produced in 1998, proved to be a blueprint for action following the September 11, 2001 attacks that refocused the world’s attention on Afghanistan.
